At what point is it appropriate to remove the diaper? Sometimes she wakes up dry anyway. But the diaper is just a major crutch for us. My daughter will not poop on the toilet. Almost every night she just waits until bedtime to go because that’s when we put the pull up on. We cannot keep doing this. I hate to remove it at night but I don’t know what else to do. I just plan to layer sheets and training pads and know that she may pee and we will deal with it then. Maybe a few nights and she will do it on her own? I’ve tried ALL the bribing. I’ve got a stubborn one

Our OB said as soon as they start waking up dry it’s a good sign for potty training. We got rid of the diaper all at once (day & night at same time) and he’s only had one accident (started day after Christmas). I’d say just go for it. Our son still runs off to poop not on the toilet, but I’ve heard many kids don’t potty train for pooping on the toilet until closer to 4.

We are in the exact same position! I could have written this post😅 My daughter finally gave in to pooping on the potty this last week, but only if it was in a diaper on the potty (we started with her in a diaper on the potty and then the diaper in the potty and not on her) and only if chocolate treats were involved. All the bribing before didn't work either, but we took a chance on a whim and it worked in this step by step phasing. She's now pooped on the potty 3 times this week (if a diaper is in the potty) and we said we no longer are going back to diapers on her and she's accepted it. She, unfortunately, wakes up with a very full night diaper, and she's a deep sleeper, so we couldn't take away the night diaper and were stuck in the same cycle of her pooping once we put the night diaper on. It sounds like you could start night training! Which is exciting 😁
